Surprised by the quality!
"First, the negative... when I first heard that this crazy woman was selling "homemade" mittens, I thought, "How quaint. Some flimsy, crocheted mittens. Hope she does well... but not my "cup o' tea".
Second, the positive reality... I got a pair of these mittens in the mail — WOW! It was difficult to believe that they were made in someone's home. They were so professionally done, solid and the warmest gloves I have owned. Don't imagine that these mittens are crocheted with cheap yarn and just "thrown" together. You won't believe the quality.
Also, in these days of economic down-turns, we all want our purchases to be a great value for the dollar. Your dollars going to purchase these mittens will not only give you a high-quality product, but the profits from these mittens goes toward the wonderful cause of adoption. Amazing. So... stay warm on the outside and the inside by buying these mittens!! My Highest Recommendation."

Rachel's Favorite Mittens
“I was so impressed when I received my new mittens as a Christmas gift! I’ve tried to make mittens myself and they ended up being a bit twisted and not feeling right. But THESE mittens are for real! There are no twists or uncomfortable seams… very warm and the quality is most definitely there! Good and sturdy, they look great with a jean jacket and riding boots, or my big quilted coat if it’s REALLY cold! If you’re looking for a gift that will truly be appreciated, you won’t regret giving Upcycled! Sweater Mittens!”

Favorite Sweater "Mitten-ized"
" 'Oh, no! What happened?!' My husband's treasured wool sweater from our trip to Norway would now fit my teenage granddaughters rather than my size "large" husband! I tried to stretch it, but it was no use! So I reluctantly gave it to my son's family... consoled that it would find a good home.
After waiting to hear who had succeeded in inheriting this beauty, my daughter-in-law Elaine sheepishly told me that it didn't seem to suit the style of any of her... children. "Oh, well, the kids just don't have any idea of what they are turning down," I thought. Then she added, "Hey, I have this great new project - I'm making mittens out of recycled wool sweaters. Would you like me to make you and Dan some from his sweater?" ...A few weeks later, I called her and said I didn't think I wanted the sweater to be cut up. By the silence on the other end, I knew what I would find under the Christmas tree that year! Then the mitten adventure began to mushroom. I saw some samples; I saw that the proceeds would go toward the adoption of a new family member, and I got excited!! (I even spent a few days helping Elaine before the Christmas rush.) By the time those mittens showed up under our Christmas tree I was a total 'convert'. Imagine how I feel now after holding our beautiful Karis!"
